Who uses VerifyScience institutionally

The tool is designed for contexts where research quality assessment is systematic rather than occasional.

๐Ÿ”ฌ
Systematic review teams
First-pass credibility screening of large literature corpora before full-text review. Batch submissions of 50 papers return scored, ranked results. Reference list verification scans entire bibliographies for retraction flags and methodological concerns.
๐Ÿ›๏ธ
Research integrity offices
Rapid preliminary assessment of flagged papers. Structured documentation of methodological concerns โ€” exportable to BibTeX, RIS, and PDF. Real-time retraction cross-referencing via Crossref and Retraction Watch.
๐Ÿ“š
Academic publishers
Pre-submission screening or editorial triage. API integration allows VerifyScience assessments to feed directly into editorial management systems without manual intervention.
๐Ÿ’Š
Clinical evidence teams
Rapid methodology review for evidence synthesis. Chrome extension enables clinicians to verify papers directly from PubMed without leaving their workflow. Domain calibration ensures assessments are tailored to the research methodology.
๐Ÿ’ผ
Research-intensive corporates
R&D teams in pharmaceutical, financial, and technology sectors use VerifyScience to assess the research underpinning competitive intelligence, market analysis, and product claims.
๐ŸŽ“
Graduate schools & libraries
Research methodology training, library instruction programmes, and graduate supervision. Chrome extension allows students to verify papers while reading on PubMed โ€” building critical appraisal skills in real time.

API integration

All six endpoints are documented at verifyscience.co.uk/docs. Authentication uses VerifyScience API keys generated from account settings.

Single paper verification
Asynchronous, job-based
Submit a URL, DOI, or text. Receive a job ID. Poll for results. Typical completion: 30 seconds to 4 minutes depending on tier. Integrates with LangChain, Zapier, and any HTTP client.

Batch verification (Professional+)
Up to 50 papers per submission
Submit a list of URLs in a single call. Parallel processing returns all results via polling or email. Designed for systematic review workflows and bulk literature assessment pipelines.

Common questions from institutional evaluators

Has the confidence score been validated against expert consensus or retraction databases?
Not at scale as yet. The scoring model draws on established peer-reviewed frameworks for research quality assessment, applied via structured AI prompts. Formal accuracy benchmarks against expert panels are on the development roadmap. We publish this limitation explicitly in our methodology documentation.
Does VerifyScience work for non-English papers?
Yes, with caveats. Claude AI handles multilingual content, and VerifyScience detects and reports the paper's language. Analysis quality is highest for English-language papers. Nuanced methodological language in other languages may be interpreted with reduced accuracy.
Can we integrate VerifyScience with our editorial management system?
Yes via API. Any system capable of making HTTP requests can submit papers and retrieve structured JSON results. We are happy to provide integration guidance and, for institutional clients, discuss custom webhook delivery of results to your system.
What happens to papers we submit โ€” are they stored, shared, or used for training?
Paper content is processed transiently by Claude AI (Anthropic). VerifyScience stores verification results linked to user accounts for history and export purposes. Submitted content is not used to train AI models. Users can delete all data via account settings. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
Is there a minimum commitment for institutional pricing?
No. We will discuss arrangements that fit your volume and budget โ€” including pilot periods before any annual commitment. Institutional pricing is designed to be materially lower per-verification than individual plans at equivalent volume.

Institutional enquiry

What happens next
We respond to all institutional enquiries within one business day. The initial response includes a methodology briefing document, a pricing proposal based on your volume, and an invitation to a 30-minute call if helpful. There is no sales process โ€” just a direct conversation about whether VerifyScience fits your requirements.
